My father Rev Reuben Donald Elley used to say that alcoholics normally like a drinking buddy- some company while they do what they like to do.

My uncle Jim Essex, my father’s sister’s husband was like this. He was a lifelong alcoholic and he had a drinking buddy (or buddies) wherever he lived.

George Thorgood doesn’t like drugs but he does like booze.

So George’s no drugs policy seems to have worked and he’s survived his love of booze.
