“And then I recalled all the gossip about all the prime ministers since I’ve been a journalist…Paul Keating – he and Annita would divorce because he was secretly gay.”

Sydney Morning Herald article below

In 1993 I received my Australian citizenship from then Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating at the Sydney Town Hall in front of thousands of people at a special commemoration citizenship ceremony.

I was chosen because I was a New Zealand emigrant businessman who’d done well in Australia. I was the only Anglo-Saxon and the other candidates for citizenship came from all over the world. The Australian government was illustrating the multiculturalism of Australia.

Paul Keating arrived with a large entourage and fanfare. Assistants and media, the whole shebang. He was quite something in those days and knew how to play the game, maintain the invincibility and aura.

Paul Keating made a total mess of the Australian economy.

When Paul Keating was Australian Federal Treasurer in the late 1980s, under his economic ‘governance’, and as a direct result of him dismantling Australian tariffs on imports carte blanche, the Australian economy went into a major recession. It was all Paul’s fault and yet to this day Paul sees himself as an economic hero.

Paul Keating’s gayness

I really don’t give a toss about whether Paul Keating is gay or not.

Paul lives with his boyfriend in Potts Point so he must be gay.

In fact, recently a tradie whose mate has done work for Paul confirmed that he is gay.

He’d witnessed Paul Keating and his gay mates hanging out and said he lives with a bloke in Potts Point.

I asked if the gays he hangs out with are young boys and he said “no, men about Paul’s age”.

Nothing surprises me these days.

Back when Paul’s marriage to Anita busted up it was rumoured it busted up cos he likes men rather than the ladies.

Actually it really surprises me that Keating likes some back-door action.

Hot gossip about the personal lives of people in power: should we care?

5 January 2015

“There is nothing quite so gripping as a message from a friend telling you she has hot gossip about a powerful person.

This time it was a corker. It said, emphatically, that the Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, and his wife, Margie Abbott, had separated but that they would stay together for the sake of the country.

I’ve paraphrased the message somewhat because it was lengthy – but that was the gist.

So I started looking at photos of Tony and Margie together. Yes, she looks exhausted and stressed. But I’m pretty sure that’s how the partners of all politicians look. And then I recalled all the gossip about all the prime ministers since I’ve been a journalist. This is the shortlist (there was so so much more):

Malcolm Fraser – he and Tamie would divorce. Bob Hawke – he and Hazel would divorce. Paul Keating – he and Annita would divorce because he was secretly gay…”

Here are some comments on-line about Paul Keating and his gayness.

Politicians of any sex have comments made about their looks/sexuality etc etc.

“This is true, I remember rumours about Paul Keating being gay. What I don’t remember is him being put on the spot in a live interview and being asked if he was actually sleeping with his partner. That was just going to far, so nobody did it. But for some reason nothing is off limit for Julia Gillard. Apparently it’s OK to completely cross the line, descend into sexual harrassment, and if pushed perhaps even blame her for agreeing to do the interview in the first place.

It’s too rude for words and shouldn’t be an acceptable hazard of being a high profile public servant.”

Just because you saw him on tv as a married man, does not mean he’s not gay. It’s now confirmed that he’s living with a gay lover in Potts point. Paul isn’t the only politian that hid his homosexuality by marrying a woman. Jeff Kennett (yes the ex Victorian premier) did the same thing. Want me to name sone more famous people? Darryl somers, molly meldrum. Johnny young. Graham Kennedy. Albert Newton.
