On page 91 of ‘Live Love Lead’ Brian Houston writes:

And I struggled to come to terms with the man I knew, the one who harboured dark struggles himself and committed acts I could never had imagined. This too kept the pain alive in my body and in my heart”.
There is a lot in this statement of Brian Houston’s- the son of an extremely evil lifelong child rapist- Frank Houston the founder of Hillsong Church- who deliberately set out around the age of 20 to use the Christian ministry as a foil and disguise to breach the natural defences of innocent trusting and believing New Zealand Christian families so he could access their little boys for his own sexual gratification.

I never put myself in a position whereby Frank Houston could attack me.
I was always gentle, polite and civil with him and he liked me.

We’d heard Frank was accused of child sexual abuse but he denied it and said his enemies were attacking him- just like his son Brian does when people say and write the truth about him.
Frank’s wife Hazel provided the meals, cleaned the house and did the family finances. Like an old-school wife she did all the practical stuff and was the home-maker. A kind of unpaid slave.

The fourth layer were Frank’s lay home fellowship leaders including leaders like Phil Thwaites, Laurie Murphy, me and many others.
In the fifth layer were young men who amused Frank, were his play things and passed the time.
The handsome young musician Steve Coleman was in this category.
Steve was Frank’s favourite travelling companion in the early 1980s.
I don’t know if Steve was sexually involved with Frank but he did get arrested and jailed for pedophile offences on young girls some time later.
There were a couple of young guys who ran the puppet ministry who Frank took to his home after the Sunday night services and they played computer games like ‘Mario and Luigi’. I don’t know if they were sexually abused.

That gives the reader a brief picture of the life of Frank the pedophile but it was far more complex than that.
Frank Houston was sanguine and relational but not in a mature healthy way. Frank needed people but every person in his life fitted into a complex web of covert homosexual and pedophile lust, cover and deceit.
This is how spiders work. This is how foxes work. This is how wolves work. This is how pedophiles work. This is how Frank Houston operated in life.
Our innocence about pedophilia in the 1970s and 1980s
I didn’t realise the accusations in the late 1970s- “Frank abused boys”- were true.
I didn’t really know what a pedophile was and never considered it. I never imagined the horrors pedophiles do to children and young people.
Even at age 25 in 1981 when I started attended CLC Darlinghurst (first Hillsong) I was quite innocent. I’d never contemplated what pedophilia was and involved.
There were no articles in the paper about stuff like domestic violence or crimes against children in 1960s and 1970s New Zealand.
Its only since circa 2000 with the exposure of pedophilia in the Church of Rome in Ireland and America that social consciousness and knowledge about child abuse has greatly increased.

The astute barristers and solicitors running the Royal Commission weren’t born yesterday.

The ACC used to be called the Australian Assemblies of God (AOG) prior to 2007 when Brian Houston renamed it.

This won’t work. There is legal precedent whereby directors of companies and companies are held liable for the actions of previous entities and companies they’ve trade in.

Brian lacks a tertiary education like his father. Brian didn’t listen at school and by his own admission is poorly educated.
This lack of a sound formal education is quite evident in Brian’s speech, his sermons and his books.

I seriously think Brian should consider stopping writing although I’m thankful for all the insights he gives us into his soul and mind through his rambling and at times incoherent alcohol and medication-assisted writings.
Brian has street smarts and Houston fox and wolf cunning which more than makes up for his lack of education in his quests in a world where street-smarts are often more helpful than an academic training.

Brian’s statement that “I’m just a dumb window cleaner” to the Royal Commission and in this book ‘Live Love Lead’ is all a ploy of Brian’s to try to make us feel sorry for him and to empathise with him.
In ‘Live Love Lead’ Brian is trying to justify his actions in not reporting his father to the NSW Police and for sheltering his father from the Police and the Authorities.
Brian’s book is a plea letter to the NSW Police and to the Authorities saying “I did my best. I did the right thing”.
And, “I’m just a dumb simple window cleaner who did his best to clean up a mess dad left behind”.
Brian keeps saying in this book, to the media all over the world and to the Royal Commission “I did the right thing”.
But the NSW Police, the NSW Courts and the NSW barristers and judges have heard every crook who has been dragged into their doors says the same kinds of things.

In December 2014, two months after the Australian Royal Commission (RC) subpoenaed and interviewed Brian Houston and Hillsong Church, the RC Barrister Simeon Beckett publicly recommended that Brian Houston be prosecuted for pedophile protection crimes.

The relevant NSW Legislation is the CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS (CARE AND PROTECTION) ACT 1998 – SECT 23.
Brian Houston’s Court Trial
Brian Houston will be charged with pedophile protection crimes and after a long trial will be convicted.
He may appeal but this will be a waste of time and he may risk a heavier sentence.
These offences carry a sentence of possible prison time.
If convicted of pedophile protection crimes, which are criminal offences, Brian won’t be allowed into America and other countries who don’t want criminals visiting their country.
These countries have already got enough criminals of their own.
